Most mothers I know would give their first born to have a breast pump. It’s the fastest way to get milk for baby. But if you’re like me, you’ve tried a lot of different brands and you still haven’t found the best one yet .I’ll share some tips about finding the right breast pump that will help you save time and money.
Tips to Buy the Right Breast Pump
1: Understand What You Need
The first thing to understand is the amount of milk you need to store. Many pumps don’t have an indicator that tells you how much milk you’re producing. You need to understand how much milk you’re going to need and how often you’re going to pump. This will help you determine what size and shape you want.
Next, you need to determine how often you’ll need to pump. Some women only need to pump once a day, while others may need to pump every two hours. It depends on your lifestyle.
If you’re not sure how often you’ll pump, try it for a month and see what works for you. You might find you only need to pump every other day.
2: Get Quality
There are two types of breast pumps on the market: electric and manual. Electric breast pumps are usually the most expensive, but they also come with a few advantages. They don’t need to be plugged in and they’re more convenient.
If you’re going to be pumping a lot of milk, I recommend getting a pump with a battery. Most pumps are expensive, so if you have the option, go with the one with the longest life span.
Manual breast pumps are more affordable, but they don’t offer the convenience of an electric pump. If you’re going to be using a manual pump, I recommend getting the one with the best suction.
3: Choose the Best Size
If you don’t have a specific size in mind, I recommend starting with a small one and then adding a few more. The best size to start with is one that fits comfortably in your hands and doesn’t feel like it’s going to cut off your circulation.
Once you find the right size, you can add on a few more. Some pumps even come with attachments that can fit onto a bottle or you can use a separate attachment that you attach to the pump.
4: Pick the Best Features
The last tip is to consider the features you want. Are you looking for something with a timer? Do you need a freezer? There are a lot of features to choose from.
One thing I didn’t mention is that a lot of the features on the market are not actually necessary. The most important thing to look for is whether it has a breast shield. A breast shield is a mesh bag that sits over the breast and protects them.
